Bongwe Safaris are actively supporting the Zap Foundation in Zambia that run health and education schemes around the Kafue Park. We can take our clients to see some of these projects if they choose and we ask them to bring along any clothes and books that they may like to donate.

The Lower Zambezi package offers a few more luxuries to the rusticness of our Seclusion package in the Kafue.

The lodge sits on the banks of the Zambezi River and consists of thatched chalets with en-suite ablutions. All chalets have a view of the river and each one has been designed with a Zambian style in mind.

Dining Table

The lodge is situated just 10 minutes from the Lower Zambezi National Park but with the amount of game around the lodge, game viewing begins the second you step outside of your chalet each morning. It is not uncommon to have elephants wander through the camp each day.

Our full time staff will tend to your every need with cooks to prepare all of your meals, staff to do your laundry and clean your rooms and our guide who will stay with you throughout the duration of your trip. We will ensure that you are well fed every day with a variety of hearty meals to suit all. Our delicious menu is provided by our restaurant kitchen in Lusaka so we always ensure great cooked breakfasts, 3 course dinners and fantastic picnic lunches and brunches. Tea and coffee is on hand throughout the day in camp as well as fresh juice and bottled water. A cash bar is also available for those that want something a little stronger.

Our Lower Zambezi package is all about the safari and the river. With maximum time spent game viewing either by car, boat or on foot, any time spent at the lodge is relaxation heaven. You can sit on your balcony watching the river go by or relax in thatched lappa overlooking the meandering Zambezi with a cold beer or gin and tonic.

Snared lion being treated

The chalets are all serviced with hot water and en-suite showers, and the beds are comfortable and protected by mosquito nets. There are no glass windows in any of the chalets. Instead the windows and doors are covered with gauze to protect you against any unwanted house guests but are otherwise open to the elements. So whilst you are certainly safe and secure, you are never disconnected from the wild allowing you to hear the bush as you slowly drift off to sleep.

The Lower Zambezi National Park is one of the better known parks in Zambia and is actually one of the smallest. Our Lower Zambezi Package is the perfect getaway and whilst we can't promise that you will be the only ones there, we can garantee the picturesque beauty that other parks cannot bring.

This is a well and truly picturesque safari experience with wildlife second to none and a lodge fit for any park in Africa. And being one of the most affordable safaris available, it's hard to find any reason not to join us.

Come along and join us on a safari the relaxing way. Plenty of wildlife, completely quiet and affordable to everyone.
