Bongwe Safaris are actively supporting the Zap Foundation in Zambia that run health and education schemes around the Kafue Park. We can take our clients to see some of these projects if they choose and we ask them to bring along any clothes and books that they may like to donate.

Bongwe Safaris offer affordable budget safaris , birding safaris and fishing trips in Zambia. We operate in two of the main game parks in the country - The Lower Zambezi and Kafue National Park. Bongwe Safaris also combine our safaris with combination trips to the Luangwa Valley.
We cater for both residents and visitors to Zambia and always ensure that our prices reflect our mission to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to see the abundant wildlife that Zambia has to offer, at an affordable price. Whether you are looking for a quiet relaxing safari experience in one of Africa's largest unspoilt game parks - the Kafue National Park, or one of the most picturesque game parks - the Lower Zambezi, Bongwe Safaris has the right trip for you.
Our safaris are focussed on the safari experience first and foremost. We believe that Zambians and visitors to Zambia come here to see the wildlife and want to see as much as possible in the time they are with us. The accommodation we offer is rustic but very comfortable. You will stay in thatched chalets with en-suite ablutions, clean linen, mosquito nets and all with a river view. At Both locations we provide a trained chef and qualified safari guide.
Accommodation for the safaris is all full board and all transfer costs from/to Lusaka and park entry fees are included. Also included are all activities and you will have your own personal Bongwe Safaris' guide who will look after your needs throughout the trip.
Bongwe Safaris was established in 2009 as we saw a need to offer safaris at a more affordable price than is generally available in the country. The company was set up by Alec Cole, an experienced safari guide for over 15 years in Zambia and Jon Benbow, who has been involved in IT and marketing for over 15 years and has lived in Zambia for more than 20 years.
It all started when Alec and Jon realised that as residents in Zambia, going on safari was just too expensive. They started putting together trips for friends and colleagues in Lusaka and word soon spread around town proving to them that not only were affordable safaris workable, but that there was also a demand for it.
Since then Bongwe Safaris have expanded to offering safaris to the international market utilising the same business model. Although international visitor prices are slightly higher than resident prices (due to government and park fees etc), the prices are still affordable and better than you can find anywhere else in Zambia on a fully inclusive basis.
Bongwe Safaris have now expanded and opened a guest house in Lusaka. This was primarily to cater for our own clients whenever a stop-over in Lusaka was required. Now the guest house is bustling with guests from all over the world and has a lively bar and restaurant with a great pool area to relax in. The guest house is very affordable and is situated in the quiet suburbs of Lusaka and near to the main shopping centres.
